SEO, Search Engine Optimization is a very important aspect of aspiring great webmasters. There are some basic SEO terms we may need to know to understand the word fully.
Crawling and indexing are two important SEO terms. You probably have an idea of these terms if you have been in the web world for a while. The entire web depends on Google Crawling and Indexing.

A definition of this term with reference to Google
Crawling: crawling occurs when Google visits your website for the purpose tracking. This is done by Google’s Spider crawler. In the SEO world, crawling means moving around your website. Whenever bots come to your website
(any page), they follow other linked pages also on your website.
We create sitemaps to aid crawling as they contain all of the links in our blog and
Google’s bots can use them to look deeply into a website.
To stop crawling parts of our websites, we use Robots.txt file

Indexing: Indexing takes place after crawling has been done, the results gets placed in Google's search engine. It is the process of adding webpages into Google search. Depending on the meta tag used, (index tag means Google should crawl and index your pages, no-index tag means that
Google should not crawl and index your pages into the web search’s index).

Let only important parts of your blog or website get indexed if you want to rank higher in search engines. Indexing unnecessary archives like tags, categories, and all other less important pages will affect your blog ranking.

Factors Affect Crawling:
The amount of websites online are so much that not everyone is satisfied with the crawling and indexing rate because a whole lot of  persons are left out, constantly wondering why their articles aren’t getting indexed.

These are some major factors that play some important roles at the backend of
crawling and indexing.

Domain Name; Your domain name matters alot, know that now if you dont... Since the Google Panda update, domain name importance has risen significantly. Your Domains should include the main keyword of your niche since such domains are given importance recently.
It isn't new that the crawling rate is higher for domains that have a good Page Rank.


Backlinks also aid indexation, The more backlinks you have , the more trustworthy and reputable you become in the eyes of search engines.
 You can have good rankings but if you aren’t getting any backlinks for your site, search engines may assume that you have low quality content.


Internal Linking is as important as backlinking, it is also known as deep linking. you should use the same anchor text within the same article as it helps in the deep crawling of a site. Internal linking is a good practice, not just for SEO, but also for maintaining active users on your website.


Once you setup a website you should always use an XML sitemap so that your sitemap can be auto-generated. This way, Google will be informed that your site has been updated and will want to crawl it.

Try not to have any duplicate content on your site. Fix all of your 301 and 404 re-directs for even better crawling and SEO.

Create SEO friendly URLs for each page on your site, as it is important for proper SEO.

Have unique and non-competitive meta tags for your website. This will ensure that you have top ranking in search engines.

Add all the main ping sites to your site if you use WordPress. It has an auto-pinging feature which will inform search engines about your website’s updates.


Once you optimize your website following these factors, Google will surely crawl and index your page faster and more accurately.

How To Expand Your Wordpress Ping List

WordPress ping list are indeed useful when you want to extend your blog reach to major search engines. If you are not aware of pinging feature in WordPress, then be aware now! :) When ever you publish, edit or modify a post, WordPress sends ping to all the Ping services which must have been listed under your ping update service. So this way, ping services get notified about new post and search engine will quickly index them.
